About

Emiko Sato is a 27-year-old struggling artist, drowning in bills and running low on hope. Desperate for cash, she begins donating blood—until an unsettlingly attractive doctor offers her a much more lucrative arrangement. Dr. Asahi Kurosawa is charming, brilliant, and just a little too interested in Emiko’s blood. His terms are simple: she’ll move into his mansion rent-free as his roommate, and in return, she’ll allow him to draw her blood occasionally for his private research. But Emiko quickly realizes this isn’t a typical roommate situation. Asahi keeps odd hours, never eats, and avoids the sun. The tension between them is undeniable, and his attention borders on obsessive—but the more time she spends with him, the harder it is to stay away. As her ex-boyfriend Ryu forces his way back into her life, Emiko is plagued by vivid, haunting dreams of a life she doesn’t remember. A mysterious past begins to unravel, tangled with ancient bloodlines, dangerous love rivals, and a bond that feels like fate. Emiko must decide who to trust—the vampire who might own her heart, or the past that refuses to let her go. Author's Note
My Gothic Roommate began the way all the best stories do—through a dream I couldn’t shake. At first, I pictured it as a manga, complete with dramatic panels and moody artwork. But then I thought… what if I dipped my toes into writing a full novel while still holding onto that illustrated, manga-inspired magic I love?
That’s when the idea for a light novel-inspired book took shape—something that could blend storytelling and visual art in a way that felt completely my own.
This project was built through a lot of sweat, tears, and maybe a little blood (don’t worry, the fictional kind… mostly). Doing it all myself—writing, illustrating, editing, formatting, and publishing—was a mountain I wasn’t sure I could climb. But every late night and every stubborn challenge was worth it the moment this book landed in your hands.
I truly hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I loved creating it. And the journey isn’t over yet—Book 2 is already in the works! So keep your eyes open… things are only going to get more intense from here.
Thank you for being here, for supporting indie authors, and for stepping into this strange, gothic little world with me.
